Happy Anniversary to us!

As long as I could remember it was explained to me what it would be like getting married to my one true love. How we would kneel across from each other with the infinity mirrors behind us symbolizing our eternal marriage and commitment to each other. Me in my beautiful white dress and my "true love" there staring into my eyes as we exchanged our rings and they pronounced us man and wife. And then he would kiss me and my life would be complete. So romantic and exactly what every girl wants for her wedding. Well I can honestly say it was very close to that. The only mishap has now become my favorite part in this fairytale like wedding. After we exchanged rings they told us to seal it with a kiss. And in my overwhelmed, on cloud 9 head of mine, that meant to kiss his ring. So I did and everybody laughed. But that is my favorite part now of our wedding day. For years after if you took your ring off Don, I had to kiss it right when you put it back on. For some odd reason this tradition stopped. So a few years ago when I got you a new ring I engraved it with "sealed with a kiss". So you would never forget of that day and my commitment to you. What I love about our marriage and our relationship is the balance we give to each other. We seem to have opposite personalities. I'm more laid back and you like to be in control. I'm more of the sympathetic, lovey, over indulge type; you are the consistent, disciplinary, grounded type. And the longer we are married, the more we are becoming like the other. Creating a perfect balance. I could not be this "take charge" type of person while your gone without your example. And I have truly seen you soften over the years. Your first encounter with the church was the LDS commercial stating that "Best friends make the best marriages"; and you thinking of me even all those years ago as your best friend, has held true through out our marriage. You were my best friend then and you are even more now. And I love that. The things that make me go head over heals crazy for you are...... Your funny laugh. Nobody in the world can even duplicate it I think and I smile every time I hear it. Your beautiful blue eyes. What a wonderful father you are. The way you take care of us. That your a hard worker. That you never give up even when you really want to. The way you keep growing closer to your Father in Heaven. That you take being a priesthood holder and a good home teacher seriously. That you are a strong leader. I didn't realize how much I found this to be an attractive quality until I started to watch LOST with you. My favorite character on the show is Jack because of the way he leads and takes care of everybody. I can so see you in that position if we were ever deserted on an island. Haha. I seem to like the strong, take charge type and that is sooo you. I know I never told you that because I was a bit embarrassed but I got to tell you that is so hot!! Hee hee! The way you show me you love me. You never hesitate to tell me how pretty I am or how much you love me. And when your gone it's very apparent how much you miss me. The way we still flirt is so much fun and the way you can make me laugh. Thank you for these 11 years of ups and downs, of growth and enlightenment. Thank you for being there for me when I needed it and for pushing me to improve myself. Your my life, my everything. My world is you!! And I'm so glad I accidently hit you, all those years ago, with my flag pole at band rehearsal. Here's to another wonderful 11 years together. I love you Don! Happy Anniversary!!!!

I can't help but brag alittle!

Layton has finally found a sport that he loves AND is good at.
FOOTBALL!
It started in the fall with watching OSU football games with his father, and then playing football video games none stop. Then it went to him picking up a football and never letting go of it for 6 months. When he found out there was going to be a football team he could play on in the spring he begged us for the chance. I was ok with it because it is flag football so no tackling. They have practice twice a week and the first week it was easy to see that he was a natural. The coaches were impressed and couldn't believe that this was his first year playing. They made him the main quarterback for the team and they are 6 and 0 with 3 more games to go. The NFL sponsors this program so they have real NFL team jerseys. Layton's team is the Detroit Lions. (They are white and blue not blue and white) He loves playing and takes the game very seriously. As of right now this is what he wants to do when he grows up. And his father couldn't be more proud of him. The first game Don told me that the other parents around him were saying things like "wow that kid is good." And there's Don beaming as only a proud parent can saying "that's my Son". In fact I don't know who was more excited Layton or Don. So the rest of that weekend they both couldn't stop talking about it and the future. It's so fun to see them so happy together and connecting as father and son. Next stop......
THE PLAY OFFS!
GOOD JOB LAYTON!
GO LIONS!!!
